Angel Card Reading

Angel, Tarot and Oracle Card Readings

Welcome to our card reader at Thornbury Apothecary!

Our reader, Anna, have been reading cards for a long time. She share messages from their guides with love and care. Anna uses her decks to connect with your energy and her guides to read what is happening in your life and offer guidance to help you through difficult times. Some people come for clarification or to align with their life purpose. During the session with Anna, she may use a range of tarot, angel, and oracle cards.

Messages from Anna’s guides come in a variety of ways, such as the use of symbols, smells, colours, and imagery seen on the card or shown by a passed loved one in their minds eye. Anna will ask you to confirm the messages to ensure the energy during the reading stays open and clear to connect to. This helps affirm the message and provide proof of what needs to be said and listened to.

WORDS BY KAYA MARTIN

“When you are doing this, it will come up with whatever it needs to tell me,” she says. Anna’s method of reading involves incorporating the cards into a greater practice of healing, using the Light Seer’s deck to help guide her clients along their journey. She says the cards illuminate certain things that are holding people back, like trauma or issues from past relationships.

What are angel and oracle cards?

Angel and oracle cards are types of divination tools used in spiritual and intuitive practices. They are typically a deck of cards featuring 72 or more cards full of images, symbols, and words that are believed to convey messages and guidance from the spiritual realm, including angels, guides, and ascended masters.

Oracle cards are generally more open-ended than traditional tarot cards, allowing for a broader range of interpretation and personal intuition. They can focus on a particular theme or aspect of life, such as love or career, or offer more general guidance.

Angel cards are a specific type of oracle card that are focused on messages and guidance from angels. They often feature angelic images and symbols, and are used to connect with the energy and wisdom of the angels for guidance and support in various areas of life.

Both angel and oracle cards can be used for personal reflection and growth, as well as for readings with others to offer guidance and insight.

Why have an angel card reading instead of a tarot card reading?

Some people may prefer angel card readings over tarot card readings for various reasons. Here are a few reasons why someone may choose an angel card reading:

  1. Comfort: Angel cards are associated with love, light, and positivity. They are often viewed as gentle and uplifting, which can make the person receiving the reading feel comforted and supported.

  2. Simplicity: Angel cards typically have fewer cards in a deck than tarot cards, which can make them easier to understand and interpret. This can be helpful for someone who is new to card readings or who prefers a simpler approach.

  3. Personal Connection: Some people may feel a stronger connection to angels or spiritual guides and find that angel cards resonate more with them than tarot cards.

That being said, both angel and tarot cards can be powerful tools for self-discovery and guidance. The decision to have an angel card reading or a tarot card reading ultimately comes down to personal preference and what resonates with the individual.

The history of tarot cards.

The history of tarot cards is not completely clear, as their origins are shrouded in mystery and myth. The tarot is a deck of 78 cards that is used for divination and fortune-telling. The cards are divided into two groups: the Major Arcana and the Minor Arcana.

It is believed that the tarot originated in medieval Italy in the 15th century, as a playing card game similar to bridge. The oldest known tarot deck, the Visconti-Sforza deck, dates back to the 15th century and was commissioned by the Duke of Milan. The deck featured allegorical images that were used to represent virtues and vices.

Over time, the tarot evolved from a game into a tool for divination and fortune-telling. In the late 18th century, a French occultist named Antoine Court de Gébelin published a treatise on the tarot, in which he claimed that the cards had an ancient Egyptian origin and contained hidden esoteric meanings. He also associated the cards with the Kabbalah, a mystical Jewish tradition.

In the 19th century, French occultists such as Éliphas Lévi and Papus further developed the esoteric associations of the tarot, using it as a tool for spiritual and psychological insight. They also developed systems of correspondences between the tarot and other esoteric systems such as astrology and alchemy.

Today, the tarot is a widely-used tool for divination and self-discovery. The cards are often used in conjunction with intuitive or psychic abilities to provide insight into the past, present, and future. The symbolism and meanings of the cards have evolved over time, and there are many different tarot decks available, each with its own unique style and interpretation.

How are tarot cards used in order for a message to be heard?

Tarot cards are used as a tool for divination, which is the practice of seeking knowledge of the future or the unknown through supernatural or spiritual means. The reader shuffles the deck of 78 cards, each with its own unique symbolism and meaning, and selects a spread or layout for the cards. The spread determines the position of each card and its relationship to the other cards in the reading.

Once the cards have been laid out, the reader, Abbey and Anna interpret the symbolism of each card and its position in the spread to provide insight, guidance, or advice on a particular question or situation. Anna or Abbey may also use their intuition, psychic abilities, or connection to spiritual guides to enhance their interpretation of the cards.

It's important to note that the messages received through a tarot reading are not set in stone, but rather offer possibilities and potential outcomes based on the present circumstances and the querent's (the person receiving the reading) state of mind. The goal of a tarot reading is to offer guidance and insight to help the querent make informed decisions and navigate life's challenges with greater clarity, healing and confidence.
