Amie is a Tattoo Artist, Ceramicist and gifted Aura Photographer and Reader.
Whilst creating her ceramics, Amie grew a love for the Art of Aura photography, and created her business, Earth Studios. A beautiful mix of Art, tattooing and Aura photography.
Through her knowledge of Art history and understanding of symbols, Amie reads your Aura photo like a painting, based on the way the colours appear. The photo is said to show something beyond what we can physically see but sometimes feel deeply within ourselves.
Amie is available for Tattooing on Mondays & Tuesdays Aura photos on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and once a month on Saturday from 11am - 2pm.
How I read/What to expect with your reading.
The way in which I read things is very different to how others do so. The way I see it. The readings are just based on my own personal knowledge paired with pattern recognition. The camera is device that takes your portrait and essentially renders a painting we can’t predict. I will then read you like a painting based on the way the colours show up. Through my knowledge in art history and meaning behinds colours and symbols, as well as the impact and history of the LGBTQIA community has had on our culture/history as a whole. Through nuanced and more complex thinking and understanding of meanings and concepts. Art, much like the LGBTIQIA culture is coded, there is meaning behind things that not everyone understands, and this was a way to stay safe and to create a sense of personal freedom. A lot of artists held in high regard and were change-makers were part of the LGBTQIA community, even if it wasn’t explicitly said so (was illegal for a very long time). There is no this or that, right or wrong binary thinking in the way I read, because we are humans are a full spectrum of colour with light and dark aspects in those colour, neither being black or white. We are all our own unique rainbows, is how you will be read- full of colour. You become the art and I am just reading the story that is presented in front of us. Reading is just story telling.
Different colours mean different things to everyone. Everyone assigns their own meaning to colours and some hold certain colours in high regard. Colour resonates deeply and differently to everyone, and not everyone can see colour in the same way you see it. Some people feel colours, others don’t see colour at all. It is all subjective and unique to you. None of this is concrete, certain or a divine and perfect truth, it is relative. I don’t know you and I can’t tell fully who you are, what your past or future holds. I am not an authority over you, we are just meeting face to face human to human. You are a sovereign being and have your own personal discernment which is a powerful tool. I am reading the moment captured on film. Sometimes it helps us understand ourselves better, sometimes it reveals something to us we haven’t been able to put into words, sometimes it doesn’t make sense (and that is ok) but overall is just a fun and cool activity. It doesn’t have to be taken so seriously or literally if you don’t want to. Regardless though it is kind of beautiful in this modern day world to sit for a portrait and let yourself be really seen in the physical sense. The process is a practice that we very rarely partake in, and the act of taking time out of your day to do something nice for yourself is a special experience. This is only magic in all of this is you and if you make it so. You are the one who gets to feel the experience fully, only you can do that. I can’t for you. You are the magical part of this all. I am just telling you what I see and if it resonates within you that is you recognising something within yourself, or hearing something you need in that moment. Only you can do that, and that is the special part of this all - YOU!

Where are you located?

Do you do walk ins?
No, Eartha is by appointment only.
Do you send reminder emails/text messages?
No I don't. There is just the confirmation email when you purchase.
If I forget and am a no show can you honour my purchase and carry it on to another day?
Unfortunately we cannot and you will have to rebook and pay again. If you forget or don't show up that's it! No show no refund. Also please be mindful of the date you choose, if you come on the wrong day we won't be able to see you most likely either. Sorry
If I am late can I still get my photo?
If you are more than 5 minutes late you have missed your appointment and it cannot be done. You will not get a refund or be able to reschedule. You will have to rebook and pay again. Aim to be 5-10 minutes early to avoid this.
What do I wear, do I have to wear something specific for the photo?
You can wear whatever you are most comfortable in. Black and darker colours can help to see the colour of the photo better, it is recommended but not required. You can also wear rings but they do need to be taken off for the photo as they can scratch and damage the hand pads. This the only one non-negotiable with the photos, besides that come as you are, in what is most comfortable.
Can I bring a friend/support person to my tattoo/aura photo?
Yes you can, and it is encouraged. If that is what you feel most comfortable with then you are more than welcome to bring a friend along. If you want more than one person to come along please email to see if it is something that can be done.
If I am sick/can't make my appoitnment can I reschedule?
Yes, but you must give 48 hours notice and your appointment can only be reschedule once. If you can't make the rescheduled time you forfeit your booking. Rescheldues must be done within the month and can only be done on avaliable dates (Thurs/Fri). Bookings made with a gift voucher cannot be rescheduled.
Is the space disability friendly?
No, sorry. The space is upstairs, so it is not wheelchair or mobility aid accessible/friendly. I am so sorry.
Is the space pram friendly?
Unfortunately the space cannot accommodate prams. They cannot go upstairs and there is not space downstairs to leave it while you get a reading.
Are the aura photos vegan?
No, there is no such thing as vegan film photos. All film uses Gelatine as a thickener in film. Even most printed photos taken digitally are not vegan.
Do you offer discounts or payment plans?
Unfortunately I am not in the position to offer either discounts or payment plans sorry.
Do you do gift vouchers?
Yes, they are the first listing on the website.
I forgot to use my gift voucher/discount code when I booked, can I get a refund?
No. To get the discount or have your voucher go through you must use the code at the checkout for it to go through. They cannot be applied after bookings have been made.
Can you do aura readings via zoom/remotely?
No, unfortunately to have your aura photo taken and be read you must physically come in as it is an instant Polaroid camera with hand pads connected to the camera, which can only been done in person.
Do you do couples photos?
Yes. If you want an individual photo each and a couple one just buy 3 consecutive time slots, won’t be able to do it as easily/at all if it’s not consecutive time slots. If you just want a single couple photo, just book for one session.
How often should I get an aura photo?
Totally up to you! You definitely don't need to get them every week, or even every month. Every 6-12 months can be a good timeframe if you want to get them regularly and turn it into a little self care practice.
I want to get an aura photo but I don't want to get a reading with it, is that ok?
Yes it is. If you don't want a reading and just the photo that is totally fine, and you don't have to feel bad if you don't want a reading with the photo. It does not change the price of the booking.
Can I change the time and date of my aura photo?
Yes, but only once and during available times/dates. If you can't make your original appointment time it can be rescheduled (excludes gift vouchers and sale bookings). If you can't make your rescheduled time you forfeit your spot. Please be sure of the time and date when booking. It cannot be refunded if you made a mistake or change your mind. Sale bookings cannot be rescheduled.
Do you travel to places/do house calls?
Unfortunately at this time I am not able to travel with it, you would have to come to the studio to do so. However if that changes/I get travel dates it will be posted on social media.
I am not from Melbourne, how can I make an aura booking or tattoo booking?
When aura photo dates go up and they correspond with your travel dates just book it as normal. Same with tattoos when books open and the dates correspond to your travel dates. I only book one month at a time and no more in advance.
What days are available?
I tattoo Monday and Tuesday and aura photo days are Thursday-Friday. I do not work weekends at all. I only work from 11am-2pm and do not offer later or earlier hours. I book one month in advance for both aura photos and tattoos.
Available dates are what is listed on the website or Tattoo availability highlight on instagram.
Can I voice record my reading?
Yes you can, and I recommend it if you want to go back and reference it.
I have an aura photo taken by someone else can you read it for me?
Unfortunately, readings are only done on photos that are taken in the studio on the day. I don’t read other photos. If you have had aura photos done before and want to bring them along you are however more than welcome to do so.
Can I cancel/change my booking? Refund?
Yes and no. Please be sure before booking aura photos and tattoos. Refunds cannot be given for aura photos. We cannot always change your booking time if there is no availability (especially just for aura photos). If you are sick and unable to make it we can reschedule but need 48 hours notice to do so.
Same goes for tattoos we need 48 hours to be notified of a cancellation, however no refund is given for deposits. Please try to avoid cancelling multiple times, if you cancel too many times we will not be able to accept your booking. Gift vouchers cannot be cancelled or refunded at all.
If you need to cancel a tattoo and want to reschedule your deposit will be honoured up to 3 months, if you are unable to get tattooed within 3 months/cancel twice you will lose your deposit. If you want to fully cancel that is fine but deposits cannot and will not be refunded. There is also a $10 cancellation fee. Please be sure before making a booking. Change of mind/circumstance will not get you a full refund.
Do you use cards/tarot with your readings?
No I do not. I am not against them and use them in my personal life but do not find them necessary for aura readings.
Do you give student discounts or discounts for those who have travelled far?
Unfortunately this isn’t something we can offer. As much as we would love to others personal finance situation is not our personal or financial responsibility.
Do you work weekends?
No. I do not work weekends.
