A little bit about our practitioner Carmen.

What inspired you to begin this modality?

I had a general awareness of reiki previously, but it wasn’t until I began studying naturopathy that I signed up to learn it. I found that the energetic and emotional practice of reiki balanced the science-heavy degree.

What do you love about this modality?

That it is a healing, meditative modality. I love that it can really offer grounding and support to someone who receives it.

Do you practice other healing methodologies?

Yes I do. I am curious and learning more all the time. I am a degree-qualified Naturopath (stay tuned…) and continue my learning of herbal and energetic medicine. I have studied level 1 in Pranic healing, an energetic clearing and energising of the body, and continue to understand other energetic modalities which help deepen my practice. There’s also a love of astrology and medical astrology, which I see as a lovely framework of self and our place in the world.

Can you describe the treatment process?

The session lasts for around 45mins and aims to bring you back into your body, to feel more grounded and present. My practice takes influence from other energy modalities and includes an energy sweep around the body, similar to Pranic healing, before the more focused channelling of reiki. At the conclusion, we will formulate a personalised flower essence blend for you to take home, using flower cards to help you choose intuitively. The addition of this blend, itself an energetic plant medicine, is to help you carry that sense of balance and ease with you in the days that follow.

What are the advantages of your modality?

I work from the belief that the body is always responding and adapting to internal and external influences. Instead of trying to fix what is wrong, I want to be able to support a more relaxed and comfortable function. Reiki, and other healing modalities, promotes wellbeing through calming the mind and body, bringing the attention to the present and connecting back to self.

What is your goal for your treatment?

When I begin a session, I set an intention for the healing energy to flow where it’s most needed. I also take a moment to acknowledge the lineage and the support behind the practice. My goal is for clients to feel that care and intention—leaving the session more connected to themselves, feeling more grounded. I want them to feel supported, safe, and comfortable.

Do you offer any follow-up support after the treatment?

Yes, the session also includes a flower essence, blended after the reiki, for you to take home. Flower essences, created by Edward Bach in the late 1920s, are a vibrational plant medicine which promotes emotional balance and support.
