Can you share your journey with your modality?

In the winter of 2006, through a mutual friend, I was introduced to Peter Adherne. He became a good friend and a spiritual mentor. Sadly, Peter passed away in September 2009 from cancer. During his time mentoring and guiding me he had inspired and directed me to strengthen my spiritual awareness through meditation classes and harnessing my intuition by using a range of exercises that I use in my daily practice. 

Peter and I had a plan. After his passing I continued the journey and decided to learn Reiki as the healing modality of choice because it was all about harnessing pure white light, pure energy that heals and empowers people to grow and learn about themselves. I wanted to ensure that I stayed true to the legacy that was bestowed upon me, so using my intuition and the reiki process I help those that want to help themselves to learn and grow.

Do you have a personal meditation practice?

I practice meditation everyday. I put aside 5-10mins a day before I get out of bed and do a body check and a check in with my guides to start my day. This allows me to calm my mind and empty my thoughts to connect with my guides. Both my mentors Peter and Joanne taught me how to open and close meditation circles and how to teach people to engage with their own guides. This led me to teach spiritual meditation in honour of my mentors and I enjoy teaching our Beginners and Advanced spiritual meditation classes at the Apothecary. 

Can you describe the process of your treatment?

Here is a break down of what to expect during a reiki session with me: As the client, you will always remain fully clothed for the duration of the session. You will lay on a comfortable massage table with a blanket placed over your body to keep you warm. In the background meditative music will gently play as you begin to ease your mind. I then start a 'meditative journey', with you to guide you into your 'sacred space' where I leave you. I place my hands gently on your chakra energy centres. During Reiki, crystals are applied over your energy centres to clear and balance your aura. The tesla purple plates are already under the blankets which help generate a positive energy field around your body. At the end of the session a general check is done and then you are on your way feeling grounded.

As an ear candler during my sessions I check your ear with an otoscope and then you lay comfortably on a massage table with one side resting up. The candles are 40cm long and 1cm in diameter and are certified organic and TGA registered. Once the candle is placed in a cone it is lit, the tapered end of the cone is gently placed inside your ear. A towel is placed over your head and hair as well as a paper plate surrounding the base of the candle for caution. As the flame creates a gentle vacuum effect, it draws out the wax and as it does this you will feel a warmth, generally heat from the flame and hissing from the burning of the organic material. Ears are cleaned and checked before you finish up the session.
