A range of tarot cards are available at Thornbury Apothecary. Each tarot deck has unique illustrations which explain the hidden meaning found in the cards.
Motherpeace Round Tarot Deck - The four suits of the Minor Arcana are Cups; Wands, depicted with African culture; Discs, illustrated with Navajo culture; and Swords, depicted with Greco-Roman imagery. The Motherpeace Tarot deck combines art, history, mythology, folklore, philosophy, science, astrology and comparative religion with an informed feminist perspective. The images on the cards are taken from 30,000 years of women's culture throughout the world. Each of the 78 cards is a gestalt or circle of symbols celebrating the life force and people's rituals. The deck can be used for meditation, divination, psychic counselling and self-healing.
Rider Waite Tarot Deck - In 1909, artist Pamela Colman Smith, under the direction of Arthur Edward Waite, created an innovative 78-card tarot deck that would come to be recognised as revolutionary. With descriptive pictures on the 56 minor Arcana cards, the Rider-Waite deck digressed from the tradition of tarot decks used for centuries and set the standard for nearly every tarot deck published.
Twin Tarot Oracle - This 44 card deck features two "twin" cards for each of the 22 major arcana cards of the tarot. For each pair, one card represents the light and one card represents the shadow, creating a unique interpretation for your readings.
