This recipe will sooth, unblock and disinfect the ear canal all in one. You can choose your combinations depending on what you like or have available!
60ml olive oil
5 cloves of minced garlic
2-3 tsp of herbs including Mullein flowers, St. John’s Wort flowers, Calendula or a combination!
5 drops lavender essential oil
Preparation option 1.
Mix all desired ingredients in a jar, except for lavender essential oil and leave for two weeks on a windowsill to infuse the oil. After two weeks use a muslin / cheesecloth to filter out ALL plant pieces. It is very important that it is well filtered as it is going in your littles one’s ears!
Add lavender oil to the infused oil and jar. If you used fresh plants to infuse the oil you may want to keep this in the fridge, if you used dried herbs it should be shelf stable.
Preparation option 2.
Mix all desired ingredients in a jar, except for lavender essential oil and screw the lid onto the jar well and place in a slow cooker with water in it. Set the slow cooker to ‘warm’ setting and leave for 24 hours. After a day use a muslin / cheesecloth to filter out ALL plant pieces. It is very important that it is well filtered as it is going in your littles one’s ears!
Add lavender oil to the infused oil and jar. If you used fresh plants to infuse the oil you may want to keep this in the fridge, if you used dried herbs it should be shelf stable.
Application: use 2-4 drops of the oil into the ear as needed. If you’re keeping the infused oil in the fridge make sure to warm it up to room temperature before applying it to anyone's ears!
